Breaking my toe

This week we were learning how to hook the reader in, this is my recount about breaking my toe.

                     Breaking my toe

Swoosh! Went the covers as I awoke from my slumber."I'm ready for my first day of school!" I yelled enthusiastically. I woke up at around 7:00 am.Then I got into my school uniform and went into the lounge.

Clash,bang!Went the pots and pans.It sounded like a nuclear bomb had just exploded.my sister had just woken up and we were banging pots and pans like there was no tomorrow.Crack!It just had to be the heaviest pot in the kitchen that I dropped on my toe.''Waaaaaa.''I screamed.I still went to school but a week later i went to hospital.

When I went to hospital my toe was black and swollen. It felt like I was waiting forever.When they finally called me i had to go to another waiting room.A hour later I got to get my x-ray.When i got out they told me my toe was broken.Then I had to go home.

About two days after I returned home I tripped and lost my nail.I tried to get my mums attention because I was bleeding really bad.She said I had to wait for my nail to grow back. For about an hour after that anywhere I went I left a trail a blood.

Think box

Today in class we used thinkbox. Thinkbox has three parts skill tools and strategies. There is also five places to compare skills tools and strategies.These are the five options evaluation,synthesis,analysis,knowledge and comprehension and information.I used knowledge and comprehension,skill:identify tool:crayon and strategy symbolising.

I like my calendar because it appears 3D but it is an optical illusion so it is actually 2D.

Writing what so what now what

What?walt write an instructional text.

So what ? I learned to create a clear text so the reader can understand.

Now what.? To make my instructions more advanced.

Junk can be funk

This is my storage case. With this you can put things into it for later.

What use the information provided to create a set of instructions.

So what I learned to take given part if a set of instructions to complete the parts the description missed.

Now what to think more deeply into the text to make the part missed more precise.

Math learning

In maths I did this activity called water weights here's how it goes.

First you fill a plastic bag with a few litres of water.Then you weigh the plastic bag on scales to convert litres to kilograms.

SLC

This is my SLC planner.at the moment at my school we are doing this thing called Student Led Conference.That means its time for me  to show  my parents about my learning in 2013.

Writing reflection

What?we are learning to  craft an introduction that hooks the reader in. Be 

an critical evaluator of our own work.  

So what? That a good info report needs an introduction and a conclusion. 

Now what? My next step is to use a better range of vocabulary e.g. Amazing instead of good.

Pygmy Marmosets

Pygmy marmosets are the smallest but most intriguing breed of monkeys. They are found in Brazil

What they look like

Pygmy marmosets have a fur coat to keep them warm. Their average size 2-5 inches long. That is the size of an adults index finger.They have sharp claws to help climb They have tiny but sharp teeth.

How they move

Pygmy marmosets walk on tiny,fast legs.They move quickly and quietly.They are mainly bipedal meaning they walk on two legs,but sometimes quadrupedal,which means they walk on all four legs.They can turn their head 180 degrees.

Communication and grouping

Pygmy marmosets communicate in 10 different languages.They live in small groups ranging from 2-9

Food

Pygmy marmosets eat sap from trees.They eat here because sap attracts butterflies. Then the Pygmy marmoset eats the butterfly.This means they are omnivores.

Predators

They have three animal predators like raptors which are bird like eagles and hawks,cat like animals and climbing snakes.Humans are their predators because we cut down their trees.

Habitat description

Pygmy marmosets live in Brazil in cold temperatures and in trees.They adapt with sharper claws, which helps them cling onto trees.

Pygmy marmosets are a fascinating primate that need to be protected from extinction , because they're so small and vulnerable. People need to help protect them rather than destroying their habitat to make money from farms.
